Associate of Science in Nursing

The Nursing Program is a 7 term curriculum that prepares the student to take the NCLEX-RN examination upon completion. Upon passing this examination, Registered Nurses will become an integral member of the health care team in various clinical settings. The settings in nursing practice vary from neonatal to geriatric specialties. The Registered nurse will enjoy a rewarding career in the health care industry while improving the quality of life and health of their communities

 

The City College Nursing Program will incorporate holistic nursing concepts and principles to guide self and others towards wellness-oriented choices for health improvement of society. The student will learn to use critical thinking skills and advanced nursing techniques and skills to provide quality compassionate nursing care. Within this program, students have the opportunity to gain hands on experiences within many of the community medical centers and acute care hospitals

 

The program combines theory, skills and clinical practices which are guided by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses in various clinical specialties. The focus of this program is to prepare the student for a successful career as a Registered Nurse within the health care industry.
