Diploma: Phlebotomist

The Diploma in Phlebotomy curriculum is designed to train students in a minimum amount of time in the highly technical area of intravenous blood withdrawal. General medical knowledge is provided in addition to an introduction to business skills often required of individuals working as phlebotomists. Classroom instruction is reinforced in a clinical laboratory and further refined through an externship.

 

Students enrolling in this program will be required to submit proof of a physical examination, PPD (Tuberculosis Screen), and Hepatitis Series performed by a physician or other licensed health care provider prior to enrolling in MEA1245C Phlebotomy Procedures and MEA2260C Clinical Lab Procedures. The curriculum is comprised of forty-three (43) credit hours presented over four (4) quarters.
